The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF)

About

The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF), formerly known as the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP), is a multilateral impact financial institution established in 1975 by the ten member states of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). Headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the fund serves a dual mandate of ensuring energy security and enabling a sustainable energy transition across the MENA region and beyond. TAEF operates as a commercially focused lending and investment institution, providing debt and equity solutions through three primary business lines: Corporate Banking, Investments & Partnerships, and Treasury & Capital Markets. As of late 2025, the fund manages approximately $13.4 billion in assets and maintains strong investment-grade credit ratings from major agencies. Its portfolio spans the entire energy value chain, including traditional hydrocarbons, midstream infrastructure, and petrochemicals, alongside a growing focus on new energy solutions such as renewables, green hydrogen, biofuel feedstocks, and decarbonization technologies. TAEF functions as a strategic partner to both sovereign and private entities, leveraging its deep sector expertise and regional reach to drive economic prosperity and sustainable industrial development while maintaining a long track record of profitability and financial resilience.
