Manhat is a deep technology startup founded in 2019 and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The company focuses on patented natural water distillation technology designed to address water scarcity and food security challenges. By mimicking the natural water cycle, Manhat's technology captures evaporated water from open water surfaces like oceans and lakes using solar energy, resulting in zero carbon emissions and zero brine rejection. This sustainable water production method is primarily used for irrigation on in-land and floating farms, but is also adaptable for industrial uses and human consumption. Led by founder Dr. Saeed Alhassan Alkhazraji and co-founder Vishnu Vijayan Pillai, the startup aims to provide a low-environmental-impact alternative to traditional desalination, particularly for regions facing critical water stress. In addition to its UAE operations, Manhat has expanded its presence to Australia and continues to develop solutions that integrate water technology with agricultural platforms to support a sustainable future for global food and water supplies.
