They believe that effective global governance should involve local and coastal communities in decision-making processes to protect and restore the ocean. Int Pole & Line Fdn was founded in 2012 in the UK to support pole-and-line fishers in the Maldives. Since then, they have expanded their team and representation to fisheries worldwide. Their activities range from practical projects at sea to ensuring the rights of one-by-one fishers in international fisheries management decision-making.
